A study of determining the career anchor preceptions of occupational school students

The aim of this research is to determine the career anchors perceptions of occupational school students. For this purpose: To find out the answers of students career anchors perception degrees and if there is a significant differences between this perception degrees or not. In this study the issues related to resources, and the factual data were examined carefully.The research study group consist of students who takes education from occupational school in 2009-2010 academic year at Istanbul Tuzla. This is a scanning type research. The scale which is developed by Aktaş ( 2004) were used to collect the data for the research. For reliability of the data obtained from surveys done in the SPSS statistical analysis program for internal consistency (Cronbach's Alpha coefficient) was calculated .The frequency and percentage calculations have been made to resolve the data from related personal characteristics of groups in the survey. To find out the career anchors perceptions of the students 34 research statements were used and the data was analyzed through with an independent T test and One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Post Hoc complementary technique as applied Scheffe test and the results are evaluated.As a result of the research, it is found that there is a meaningful difference between answers for the students' gender, grade level, age and hometown.Key Words: Career, the Career Anchors
