The factors which effect the occupational guidence of vocational high school students

The most important source is the human resource for the economic development of countries. Nowadays, developed countries care about gaining good quality human power to be comfortable socially and economically; that?s why they make big insvestments on education. Good quality human power is remarkably important to be successful in international fields. Our country knows this very well and cares about occupational and technical education which is one of the most important parts of our socio-economic development. In this case, nearly 80% of the students? marks are low in such schools.. The factors which effect to occupational guidence activities of vocational high school students are really important.Our goal in this study is to check the issues in our high schools about occupational guidence activities, and to search the effects of family, school and environment. So we understand that if the necessary adjustments are made in the content of vocational education, the vocational high schools in Turkey will gain more importance.In this thesis, the research techniques were used which were similar to the department research techniques applied to the 10th grade students in Public Vocational High Schools to identify occupational guidence activities in Küçükçekmece, İstanbul, 2007?2008. In this department research, the datas belong to the 10th grade students were supplied by surveys.Consequently, it was understood that students weren?t well informed about occupations in Public Commercial Schools in Küçükçekmece, İstanbul, communiction couldn?t be supplied effectively with private sector, guidence studies weren?t taken so seriously, talents of students couldn?t be found out and it was understood that students and media and students? parents effect students much more than the occupational guidence of guidence service in schools.
