The research on the students personelity concept who are at vocational schools

In these research vocational schools students? personality concept was studied. The research was studied on 365 students (225 of them are at engine technology and 140 of them are at metal technology department) who are at Şehit Jandarma Komando Er Bahri AVCI Vocational School, Yıldırım ? Bursa. The data are gathered by the researcher who prepared the table of personality acknowledgement and the personality concept criterion by Piers-Harris which was translated in to Turkish by Melike ÇATAKLI and Necla ÖNER; the data were analyzed and interpreted. The SPSS program was used to analyze the data from the research. In the statistical analysis of the obtained data, the demographic variations have been classified in order to determine whether there is a difference between the arithmetic average of the self-concept lower dimension points, in the SPSS package programme; the irrelevant t-test, variance analysis with one way (ANOVA), complementary post hoc LSD test non-parametric Mann Whitney-U and Kruskall Wallis and Pearson Product Moment Correlation have been applied.The results of the research can be listed as below; the level of the student?s personality concept show same differences according to their mother?s or father?s education. However there are differences according to father?s education. However there are differences according to father?s occupation. The students whose fathers have special occupation have better personality concept than the students whose father are retired. It was seen that the children whose fathers who are paid by the hour have better personality concept than the children whose fathers are retired too.The vocational schools students? level of personality concept doesn?t show meaningful differences according to their mother?s education. But there is meaning fullness according to the valuable number of brothers or sisters. According to the number of brothers or sisters bottom dimension of happiness is meaningful. The students who have one brother or sister. Besides it was determined that the students need a good guidance about choosing their occupations and having a personality concept.According to the analysis of Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient in order to determine the relation between the personality concept lower dimension, it has been statistically encountered a meaningful positive correlation between lower dimensions.Key Words: personality concept, selection of vocation, vocational education.
