Investigation of the relationship between career decision level with cognitive flexibility and emotional autonomy level of vocational and technical Anatolian high school students

main aim of this research was to investigate the relationship between career decision level with cognitive flexibility and emotional autonomy level of vocational and technical anatolian high school students. Another aim of the study was to determine whether career decision nd cognitive flexibility and emotional autonomy levels differed according to the variables of grade and gender. 368 students who were studying in 3 high schools in Balıkesir in 2018-2019 academic year participated in the research. In this study which was conducted on the basis of the relational screening model, 'Career Decision Inventory', 'Cognitive Flexibility Scale' and 'Emotional Autonomy Scale' were used as data collection tools. SPSS 22.0 Package Program was used for statistical analysis of the data. While analyzes were made in line with the purposes and questions of the research, independent sampled T-test, one way variance analysis (ANOVA), Pearson Moments Corrrelation analysis and multivariate variance analysis (MANOVA) techniques were used to analyze data. As a result of the research, career decision, cognitive flexibility and emotional autonomy levels did not differ according to gender, while cognitive flexibility and emotional autonomy levels were found to be different according to grade variable. It was found that there was a significant negative correlation between career decision and cognitive flexibility levels and a negative correlation between career decision and emotional autonomy levels. It was found that there was a significant negative correlation between the individualization which is the emotional autonomy sub-dimension and the professional decision sub-dimensions. It was determined that career decision total score and scores of career decision subscales differed according to cognitive flexibility levels.
