Abstract (EN)

In recent years ıt has been observed after earthquakes that the conditions in the structural design of reinforced concrete buildings are not taken into account and the structural system of the buildings was damaged. Therefore, the concept of performance has gained importance in the design of new structures and the evaluation of existing structures. Many reinforced are used in cases where existing buildings do not provide the desired level of performance. It is known that the addition of reinforced concrete shear walls, one of the strengthening methods applied to existing buildings, creates a significant increase in the rigidity and strength of the existing building; however, there are uncertainties about how the reinforcement curtains added to the building will be placed in the plan. Because of these uncertainties engineers mostly find the addition of reinforced concrete shear walls by trial and error method. 4 floors school building was performed the which is a nonlineer analysis, then it was examined how different settlements of shear wall would change the performance structure.
