World of objects in Mawlana's Masnawi

When Mawlana Jalal al-Din al-Rûmî's poetry and side of being a poet is reviewed in terms of literature, it could be seen that the contribution that he made to expressions and words is great. Words' gaining new meanings, expression's removal from concrete to abstract is a result of Mawlana's poetry tradition. Mawlana seriously made a good use of poetry tradition of the age. In this works, Mawlana has mentioned numerous variety of topics such as daily use of language, Turkish traditions, customs and believes. This is also true for his masterpiece Masnawi. Indeed, a good many of paraphrases both in Turkish and Persian are seen in his masterpieces. In this work, Ahmet Avni Konuk's Paraphrase of Masnawi which is prepared as 13 volumes is rewiewed and objects are determined. Objects, in fact have a hidden side in the background of their known and visible shapes. We can not perceive the essence or the inner side of these objects not only in consideration of the object "itself". From that point of view, the question of what an object is comprised of is interrelated with the question of what its context is. In this study, it is aimed to disuss the effectiveness of objects in terms of their relevance to the topic metaphor, metonymy, as a symbol and a structuralism. In this way Mawlana's Masnawi is going to be looked through from a different view point.
