Abstract (EN)

The Effects of Learning Environments Based on Challenging Activities on Attitude, Motivation And Creativity in Gifted Students Talented kids frequently demand more from the regular education programs that are made available to them, and in order to reach their full potential, they may require specialized learning settings. These pupils require methods and approaches that push and interest them in their educational settings. This study's goal is to shed light on how challenging activities provided for gifted students in learning environments impact students' attitudes about the subject, motivation, and scientific inventiveness during the teaching and learning process. A sequential explanatory design, one of the mixed research methods, is used in the research. The study group of the research is 29 7th grade students receiving support education at BİLSEM in a medium-sized province of Turkey. 10 challenging activities were used for the experimental process of the research. In the research, Scientific Creativity Test, Attitude Scale Towards Science Lesson, Motivation Scale for Science Learning, Challenging Activities, Are Activities Challenging Test, Student Interview Form and Teacher Interview Form were used as data collection tools. The obtained quantitative data were analyzed through the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, which is the nonparametric equivalent of the dependent groups t-test, and line graphs, frequency, mean and standard deviations, using the SPSS package program. The qualitative data obtained was analyzed with content analysis to obtain in-depth information. At the end of the research, It has been concluded that the learning environment prepared with challenging activities positively affects the attitudes of gifted students towards the science course, positively affects their motivation towards the science course, and positively affects their scientific creativity levels. Teacher and student opinions also support these results. Key Words: Gifted students, Challenging activities, Scientific creativity, Attitude, Motivation
