Abstract (EN)

With the period of national resistance, there was a great struggle for education to nationalize and to place onto the contemporary foundations. Resolutions which were taken in Congress of Education and Committee of Science gathered for this purpose were reflected to government schedules. Education, with Tevhid-i Tedrisat and resolutions to Educational Organization issued with The Republic, was formed according to contemporary needs. Educational policy was formed including huge public masses beside school children. For this purpose, public schools were founded initially. However, the constraints in reading and writing in Arabic alphabet raised difficulties to accomplish this aim. The new Turkish Alphabet accepted with The Alphabet Revolution, made reading and writing more easier to learn comparing former situation. To enable the citizens, who were over the age for schools, to make use of this characteristic of the Alphabet Revolution, National School Organization was formed. Another objective of this organization was to form contemporary individuals of the Republic who can protect and develop the revolutions and also are capable of living a modern life. National Schools that started with this objective has a great importance in educational and cultural history for their contribution to contemporary individuals of the Republic that were intended to form.
