Abstract (EN)

Lignin represents 40% of solar energy exists in wood. The fluctiation of oil prices, high energy consumption in the productio n of synthetic polimers and environmentally negative effects of fossil-based feedstocks caused lignin to be used more likely in the field of material applications than energy consumption processes. It is possible to use modified or non-modified lignin as phenol or polyol derivative and elastomer's reinforced additives in synthetic resins. In this study, high pressure and enzymatic hydrolysis methods will be applied respectively to a lignocellulosic biomass. First, the sugar, to be used for different purposes, will be obtained and then the lignin, to be used as a component of composite materials, will be remained. The most convenient recipe of the process will be chosen to produce a wind turbine wing material. The results of the experiments, optimum conditions were determined to obtain maximum sugar from high pressure hot water and enzymatic hydrolysis for spruce pellets used as model biomass. In the second part of the thesis, 5 - 10 - 20% lignin based composite material was produced. At the end of the tension test, the best results for a wind turbine blade material were found to be obtained in low-rate lignin-based composite materials.
