Abstract (EN)

The psychological patterns that the athletes have in their sporting success are important. Emotional intelligence and social well-being levels are thought to be effective on the success of athletes. In this context, the relationship between emotional intelligence and social well-being in combat athletes was evaluated in the study. For this purpose, Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale and Social Well-Being Scale were applied to 361 combat athletes doing sports in Istanbul Bağcılar district, along with a personal information form. The findings were evaluated with SPSS 23.00; In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics, correlation, t-test and ANOVA were included. According to the findings obtained from the research, emotional intelligence predicts social well-being. The use of emotions, which are the sub-factors of emotional intelligence, and the evaluation of emotions increase social well-being. According to other findings of the study, women's social well-being levels are higher than men's. However, increasing income level increases social well-being. Considering the relationship between the social well-being of the athletes and their success and performance, studies on emotional intelligence will increase the success of the athletes and make them permanent. Keywords: Combat sports, emotional intelligence, social well-being
