Abstract (EN)

The accounting profession, which gained a legal qualification on 13 June 1989, has many problems. The basis of our study has been started to be formed by starting from the accounting professionals who are the main addressees of these problems. When TÜRMOB data and literature are examined, it has been observed that female accounting professionals in our country are few in number and do not take an active role in the profession as much as their male colleagues. From this point of view, the main subject of our study has been determined as "The Gender Discrimination Experienced by Female Accountants in Working Life and Examining the Perceptions of Students Studying in the Accounting Department". Aiming to examine the perceptions of accounting students regarding gender discrimination in accounting working life makes our study unique. In the literature study, it was seen that there is a gender discrimination against women in working life, it is accepted by other countries and similar studies have been carried out on the subject. In the first part of our thesis, the accounting profession and its members are included. In the second part, gender discrimination is explained, and finally in the third part, gender discrimination in working life and student perceptions about it are examined by questionnaire method.
