Abstract (EN)

Within the framework of the possibilities offered by rapidly developing information technologies, research libraries in the category of special libraries and expert librarians working in these libraries should be constantly open to innovations. They also need to be competent in information literacy education. The main hypothesis of this study was determined as "Research-engineered library users do not have sufficient knowledge and skills in expressing and planning the information needs related to the research process, using information resources, searching for information and using information ethically. A training program organized by the library will be helpful in eliminating these deficiencies." The sample of their search consists of TAI Academy Engineers. Descriptive method and survey technique were used to test the hypothesis is created for engineers. With the questionnaire technique, the difference between the groups was revealed by applying the pre-test and post-test to the engineers in the sample group. As a result of the research, it was determined that the information literacy skills of the engineers were insufficient. Information literacy training was provided in line with the deficiencies identified, and the necessity of information literacy training in technical libraries was proven after the positive developments after the training.
