Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, optimal design of nanobeams under difference boundary conditions and static loads have been investigated by Euler – Bernoulli bending hypotesis. Nanobeams have been modeled such carbon nanotube (CNT) and boron nitride nanotube (BNNT) that are important for nanotechnology. The optimal design problem that has been defined under stress and displacement conditions is solved by using the Social Spider Optimization (SSO) algorithm that is evolutionary optimization method. Optimal cross – section area results have been examined according to effects of material type, beam length, type and magnitude of external loads. How affects the optimal cross-section area results of nonlocal parameter has been investigated. When the optimal design results of bending elements are investigated, optimal cross – section area has increased as value of length and loading are increasing. It has been understood circular section for small lengths and rectangular section for large lengths are optimum. Furthermore, optimal cross – section area values of beam are different under the uniform and point load that are its maximum bending effect is equal. Optimal cross – section area values for CNT are less than calculated values for BNT. On the other hand, optimal cross – section area values have increased for nonlocal elasticity theory.
