Abstract (EN)

Our thesis is about Jack London, one of the most important and most influential writers of American literature, and the naturalism in his works and there are also realist elements in his works. Jack London brought a new breath to American literature. Instead of exaggerated and preciosity, he has adopted a more fluent, simple and realist understanding of art. For this reason, his works have been adopted by wide masses. Despite his numerous works and contributions to the world of literature, London is far from the place he deserves in world literature. London has gone through a very challenging life and has reflected this in all his works. In his subconscious, the traces of this difficult life occupy an important place. Then, he made a lot of money from the sale of these works. Jack London's difficulties matured him and his difficult life provided a good basis for his writing. His important works have been related to the struggle for survival and life in nature. For this reason, he is one of the most important naturalist writers of twentieth-century literature. The fact that London has a different political thought has been a big problem for him. In his early novels, he always described the difficult and cruel life in nature and in these works, generally the animal characters played an important role. He has always emphasized how difficult and unbearable it is to survive in nature. He explained in his works in a very simple language, in which the strong survive and the weak lose the battle for survival. The characters in his work are cruel to each other and look for opportunities to destroy each other. Jack London was influenced by socialism and reflected this in some of his works. Jack London, who has always opposed the injustice of income among people, has never refrained from emphasizing this. In some of his works, he touches on the problems of the working class, class conflict, poverty, and hunger. In this thesis, we will examine what is written about Jack London and his ideas and question his political and literary stance.
