Evaluation of an-Najm Surah in terms of thematic commentary

Allah (swt) entrusted the Prophet (pbuh) with the task of interpretation and exegesis of the Qur'ân al-kerîm. After him, the Companions, tabiîn, taba-i tabiîn and finally the commentators took over this task. The early commentators, while exegeting the Qur'an from beginning to end, narrated the narrations about the verses and then conveyed the opinions of the Companions and tabiîn on the subject. Some scholars, on the other hand, exegeted the Qur'ān with the linguistic features of the Arabic lexicon such as qiraāt, metaphor, simile, representation, metaphor, allegory, iʿrāb, itnāb, istiāra, bayān, and bedīʿ. Thus, in Islamic culture, the Holy Qur'an has been exegeted with many methods. In the modern period, some Islamic scholars have tried to exegete the Qur'an with the method of thematic tafsīr in order to convey the guidance messages of the Qur'an to people in a more organized way. For this reason, this method has been followed in this study. Surah Najm was preferred in this study because it mentions some important issues in terms of faith such as revelation, tawheed, rü'yatullah and the life hereafter. The fact that it is the sūrah in which the first prostration verse was revealed and that it mentions the miracle of mi'rāj was also effective in this choice. In this study, the issues in the sūrah in question were discussed by referring to narration, dirāyah, social, dawah, mawḍūī, classical and modern exegesis. It has been determined that some of the verses in the sūrah are associated with some issues, especially the event of Gharnīk, and thus the related verses are interpreted in a different way. Again, although the subject of rü'yatullah is explicitly mentioned in the surah and supported by other verses, it has been observed that some sectarian scholars have taken these verses out of their context and interpreted them with sectarian motives. In addition, the issue of the Sunnah being the product of revelation in the light of the verses in the sūrah is discussed and the disputes in question are.
