Irregular migration in terms of causes and consequences in Turkey: An assessment year between the years of 2000 – 2015

The purpose of this study is to examine the situation of Turkey within the scope of irregular immigration flow by enlightening with the datas and to approach with a large perspective. Within this context, beside national and international literature field studies regarding the irregular immigrants, information obtained directly from Turkish Republic Ministry of Interior Directorate General of Migration Management and including annual immigration reports current datas are used. The statistics concerning the foreigners who came to live in Turkey with any reasons and their working life is also included. Within this scope, a part of statistics are directly used and other part is reclassified. In general, it is purposed to see the change directly within the years. Hence this study reveals specific features and deficiencies of irregular immigration fact from Turkey's perspective. Due to its geographical situation, Turkey is the transit country for the immigrants who targets to go to western and northern countries. In addition to this, Turkey has been a target to the irregular immigrants after the 2000s. The justification for this situation is that they can earn more money in Turkey than their countries, flexible visa proceedings, geographical, religious and cultural affinity, the approach of Turkish people to the foreigners and welfare level of Turkey is higher than the countries around in the same geography. However in conclusion, a concrete result which supports the fact of Turkey as a target country gets ahead of the fact of being a transit country couldn't be found with the current datas.
