Abstract (EN)

This study aims to investigate the Topçu?s ideas of volition. In this sense, at first, the definition of volition is studied and different perspectives about volition in the history of philosophy are examined. It is also observed that Topçu?s perception of volition develops in the frame of mystical perception about volition. From this point of view, It is clearly shown what kind of forms the volition during its course can have in the thought of Topçu. According to him, the volition takes different forms in such different existential spheres as the people, the state, the nation, the art, the religion and the ethics. In the final analysis, it is stressed that Topçu?s point of view about volition looks parallel to the existential point of view.
