Abstract (EN)
It is known that orecsigenic and anorecsigenic peptides have role on the genesis of the obesity. In this study we investigated the relationship between nesfatin-1, preptin, leptin, deacylated ghrelin, acylated ghrelin levels and BMI of volunteers. This study comprises 150 volunteers. We organised 5 groups according to BMI as; group I (n=31): BMI< 18.5 kg/m², group II (n=28): BMI 18.5-24.9 kg/m², group III (n=31) BMI 25-29.9 kg/m², group IV (n=30): BMI 30-39.9 kg/m², group V (n=30) BMI>40 kg/m².Serum nesfatin-1 levels according to BMI between groups had ondulations. From group I to III, there was an unsignificant tendency of increase. Nesfatin-1 levels of group IV and V (obese groups) decreased significantly more than group II, (p<0.01 and p<0.05 respectively). Nesfatin-1 levels of groups were unsignificantly higher than group IV (p>0.05). In comprasion of group I, III, IV, V; serum preptin levels had tendency to increase towards group V. Preptin levels of group IV and V were statistically significantly higher than group I and II (p<0.001 respectively). We observed significant increase of serum leptin levels correlated with BMI (p<0.01). Although there were different levels of acylated ghrelin in groups, these results were statistically unsignificant (p>0.05). Deacylated ghrelin levels decreased correlated with BMI. Deacylated ghrelin levels of group I and II were significantly higher than group IV and V (p<0.001). Deacylated ghrelin levels of group III were significantly different from only group V (p<0.01).All these results showed that nesfatin-1, preptin, leptin, acylated and deacylated ghrelin may have role on the genesis of obesity by their positive or negative influences on insulin resistance. These peptides may have therapeutic role on the genesis or prevention of obesity.
