Abstract (EN)

Obesity causes many diseases. Chief among the seare diabetes mellitus (DM), hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, fatty liver, etc. These complications are associated with obesity induced insulin resistance, high fasting blood glucose level, high triglycerid level and low HDL. In the study, the relationship between the degree of obesity in obese patients and the parameters causing complications was evaluated. The aim of the study is to show how much the risks in crease as the degree of obesity in creases. In the study, 90 obese patients aged 18-70 years who applied to the endocrine out patient clinic with a body mass index (BMI) above 30 were examined. Obese patients were divided into 3 groups. The groups, which will be 3 groups as 30 people with BMI 30-34, 30 people with BMI 35-39, and 30 people with BMI over 40, were compared among themselves in terms of Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS), HOMA-IR, Triglyceride, HDL levels. Patients over 18 years of age were included in the study, and patients withovert DM under the age of 18 and pregnant women were not excluded.
