Abstract (EN)

The present study aimed to predict the concentration of vitamin D and to examine the molecular association of the vitamin D receptor gene with obesity. Our study was carried out in private laboratories in Baghdad, Iraq, on a total of 100 subjects, 30 healthy people and 70 obesity patients, as the control group, between January 2022 and May 2022. Electrophoresis was used to detect a beam size of the result of PCR interaction on agarose gel, to detect DNA fragments after the extraction procedure or to detect results of PCR interaction when standard DNA was present. This was done so that the results could be compared with standard DNA. Current findings have shown that the concentration of vitamin D3 in the serum of obesity patients (25.17±4.04) ng/mL, and the concentration in the control sample (25.17±4.04) ng/mL. The results of the statistical analysis showed that there was a significant decrease in D3 concentration between that obesity and the control sample and below the probability level of P < 0.05. It was determined that 20 (29.6%) of 70 patient subjects had CC homozygous genotype, 22 (31.4%) had TC heterozygous genotype and 28 (40%) had TT Wiled genotype. In the control group of 30 people, 15 (50%) CC genotype, 6 (20%) TC genotype and 9 (30%) TT genotype were detected.
