Abstract (EN)

After the mechanization and industrial revolution of the 19th century, the increased production mobilization progressed by combining with the developing technology. After the 19th and 20th centuries, which passed with wars and great losses, when we reached the 21st century, production and diversity increased depending on the development of production technology. This increase not only resulted in an increase in the number of products, but also in the number of manufacturers. The competition of different companies producing the same or similar products has intensified. Nowadays, when companies are in the race to grab customers, it has become clear how important it is to attract the attention of advertising posters and the target audience. Designers, who try to influence the target audience with visual images and photographs, have started to use typography more effectively in recent years. The message intended to be given in advertisements helps the target audience to understand the message better with the wide possibilities offered by typography. With this study, it is determined what kind of typographic approaches are put forward by examining the award-winning print ads in terms of typography. In this study, it has been limited to the awarded print media advertisements of the years 2016, 2017, 2018 within the scope of the Red Awards, which continued regularly from 2004 to 2018 in our country. The Red Awards is a competition held by the Hürriyet Newspaper group for 15 years. Red Awards Competitions were held in the categories of Red Press, Red Zone, Red Mastery in Application, Red Digital, Red Campaign, Young Red, Red Freedom Special Award, Red Live. Keywords: Print, Advertising, Typography, Poster, Balance.
