Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to understand what factors are based on the compatibility of individuals with each other within the framework of the marital relationship. Based on past studies, two possible factors affecting marital adjustment; anger expression styles and internal-external locus of control. In this study, the relationship between the anger expression styles, internal and external locus of control and marital adjustment of married individuals was examined using the relational screening method. The population of the research consists of married individuals living in Turkey. The sample of the study consists of 100 married men and 100 married women who were chosen to represent this universe. The sample of the research consists of 200 married individuals in total. Personal information form, continuous anger and anger expression scale, marital adjustment scale, internal and external control scale were used as data collection tools in the study. All data of the research were analyzed using SPSS 24.0 package program. In the study, Kolmogorov Smirnov Test was applied to measure whether the data showed a normal distribution. In the study, the Mann Whitney U Test was used to compare paired groups that did not show normal distribution, and the Kruskal Wallis Test was used to compare three or more groups. Spearman test was used to measure the relationship between the scales. According to the information obtained as a result of the research; sub-dimensions of the participants' trait anger and anger expression scale; a negative relationship was determined between trait anger, anger expression style-anger in, anger expression style-anger out scores and marital adjustment. A positive correlation was determined between the anger expression style-anger control scores, which are the sub-dimensions of the participants' trait anger and anger expression scale. "As a result, it was determined that as the participants' trait anger scores and anger-in and anger-out scores, which are sub-dimensions of anger expression style, increased, their scores on the marital adjustment scale decreased." A positive relationship was determined between locus of control for family relationships scores, which is a sub-category of the Internal-External Locus of Control Scale, and marital adjustment scores, and a negative relationship was determined between the scores of the locus of control for success, which is a sub-category for of the Internal-External Locus of Control Scale, and marital adjustment scale scores. As the participants' "locus of control for family relations" sub-category scores increase, their marital adjustment also increases, and as the "locus of control for success sub-category" scores increase, their marital adjustment scores decrease. Key Words: Marriage, marital adjustment, internal external control, anger control, anger
