Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to measure the information literacy skills and awareness of the freshmen studying at the Turkish Language and Literature Department of Çankırı Karatekin University. The sample of the study conducted in this context consist of 79 students from daytime and evening education of the Turkish Language and Literature Department of Çankırı Karatekin University in total. Control and experimental groups were created from these people. Pre-test and post-test procedure were used to measure the information literacy skills and awareness of the groups. In addition, while the control group was taught with classical method, the experiment group was taught integrated with information literacy. After the lectures, both groups were given a research performance task and post-test was applied after this task. The differences between the data obtained and the pretest and posttests applied within the groups were examined and the test results of the control and experimental groups were compared. In addition, research performance tasks were scored on the basis of rubrics and an assessment of information literacy skills was made. Suggestions were developed in this regard by searching answers to research questions with these methods.
