Learning style with the relationship between test anxiety

This research was carried out in order to examine the relationship between students' learning styles and their test anxieties. The research consists of fıve main parts. These are as follows; Introduction, Literature Review, Method, Discussion and Conclusion .The population of this research is the students of Anatolian High School and High School in İstanbul?s province, Üsküdar, Ümraniye, Kadıköy, Ataşehir and Sultanbeyli in 2008-2009 Academic Year. 347 students are taken as the sample of this research.In this research, Marmara Learning Styles Scale (MLSS) was used to determine students' learning styles and the level of test anxiety was used to determine Test Anxiety Inventory (TAI), In addition to this, for the demographic variables, a Personal Information Form was prepared and applied by the researcher.In this research, percentage and frequencies of demographic variables were determined. Also, students' learning styles and their test anxieties were tested; whether scale variables vary depending on demographic variables was analysed and the relationship among nominal scales was examined. Then the data obtained was analyzed by using ?SPSS for Windows 15? and the significants was examined at an .05 level.In the result of the study, it was found that There is a statistically positive significant relation between Marmara Learning Styles Scale (MLSS) authority sub-scale and Test Amriety Inventory (TAI) anxiety sub-scale. When the scores of anxiety increase, the scores of authority increase too. Also, there is a statistically negative significant relation between Marmara Learning Styles Scale (MLSS) visuality sub-scale and Test Anxiety Inventory (TAI) auditory sub-scale. When the scores of auditory increase, the scores of visuality decrease.Furthermore, the research shows that the girls have higher text anxiety than the boys. It is shown that the 10th grade Anatolian High School students have the highest text anxiety score. It seems that ther is a correlation between the parents income level and adaptation to the learning style of students and the text anxiety.Keywords: Learning Styles, Test Anxieties
