The opinions of faculty staff on artistic leadership

Within the scope of the research, it is aimed to reveal the views of the faculty members working at a state university in the Aegean Region on artistic leadership. In order to realize this aim, research is carried out with 8 lecturers working at a state university in the Aegean Region. Interview technique was used to evaluate the views of the instructors on artistic leadership. Before the interview, a semi-structured interview form was prepared to obtain the research data. The research is based on phenomenology, which is one of the qualitative research designs. The purpose of basing the research on the phenomenology design is to examine the views of the instructors on artistic leadership in depth by giving place to the stories of the participants and paying attention to be heard throughout the analysis. The views of the trainers on artistic leadership were evaluated through interviews. Content analysis was conducted to determine the views of the instructors on artistic leadership. Through content analysis, the data was tried to be defined and the facts that might be hidden in the data were tried to be revealed. In content analysis, similar data are collected within the framework of certain concepts and themes, organized and interpreted in a way that the reader can understand. For this reason, when we consider the artistic leadership concept of the academic staff working at the university as a phenomenon, phenomenology was preferred as a research design in order to examine the perspectives and experiences of the academic staff on the phenomenon of artistic leadership. detail. In the research, leadership characteristics were not sought in the participants, but care was taken to have trainers who are interested in art and aware of their experiences in the preliminary interviews. It has been observed that the views of the lecturers on leadership differ according to each lecturer. It was seen that different answers were given in the opinions about the concept of art on the same instructors. However, when faculty members were asked for their views on the concept of artistic leadership, similar or identical answers were encountered. The fact that the lecturers who gave different answers on the concepts of art and leadership, and similar answers about artistic leadership in our research, were discussed in the conclusion part. Suggestions have been put forward to conduct more comprehensive research on artistic leadership in Turkey, to provide courses on artistic leadership and art education, conferences, applied events, and in-service trainings for the personnel of the institutions themselves.
