According to teachers' views investigation on dignity of teachers in society for some variables

This research was conducted to examine teachers' dignity in society in terms of some variables and to determine what level of respectability is and what are the factors affecting reputation. In the study, a mixed model with both quantitative and qualitative data collection techniques was used. The sample of the research's quantitative dimension consists of 989 teachers working in Batman province. The working group of the qualitative dimension is composed of 40 teachers who work in Batman province. Quantitative data of the research was obtained by the " Teachers' Dignity in Society Scale", developed by the researcher and the qualitative data was obtained by the semi-structured interview form. Quantitative data were analyzed using arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Tukey HSD using the SPSS 24 packet program. Qualitative data were analyzed through descriptive analysis. According to the results of both the quantitative and qualitative aspects of the research, the teachers' reputation in the society is "moderate". When compared to one another; the male teachers to female teachers, the single teachers to the married teachers, the teachers who are new in the task to the more experienced teachers, pre-school teachers to the teachers in other branches have a more positive opinion on the respect of the teachers in the society. As a result of the research the teachers have chosen the teaching profession because of being a in respectable place in the society, but the respect of society to teachers is decreasing day by day. An important factor that negatively affects the reputation of the teachers in the society is that the economic opportunities of the teachers are not enough, also an important factor that negatively affects teachers' reputation in the society is the economic situation of the teachers and the low wages they receive which has resulted in the negative effects of teachers on their personal and social life.
