Abstract (EN)

The aim of the research is to examine the teachers', who are working in Aydın Efeler Girls' İmam Hatip Highschool in the 2021-2022 academic year, opinions and experiences, advice and strategies for coping with peer bullying. There are 21 teachers and 3 vice adminators on this research. The research was carried out according to the case study which is one of the qualitative research methods. In the study, the participants were selected according to the maximum diversity (age, gender, branch) sampling method, which is one of the purposeful sampling methods. Data were collected by interview technique. Semi- structured interview technique was used as data collection tool. The data was analyzed by content analysis technique and research findings were obtained. According to the findings teachers define "peer-bullying" by using the words "force and strength". Verbal and social bullying are mostly observed types of bullying at schools and physical bullying has never happened. When the experiences of the participant teachers in the other schools they work in and the girls' imam hatip high school were compared, it was revealed that peer bullying was observed less frequently in the school in question and it was observed once or twice a month. The types of bullying and the frequency of its occurrence vary according to the school types. Teachers mostly use the strategies of talking to the student, interviewing, warning the bully and supporting the victim in their strategies to cope with bullying.Victim students are quiet, introverted and have self-confidence problems. Bully students are students who have similar family structures and are trying to show their presence. According to the teachers, observer students do not react to the bullying when they witness. The fact that the observer students do not react is seen as the reason for the continuation of the bullying. Teachers do not see their colleagues as sufficient about peer bullying. It has been revealed that the teachers have not received any training on peer bullying until now. Teachers want to receive training on peer bullying and they suggest that MEB and school management meet their demands and needs. The results of the research were discussed within the framework of the relevant literature, the limitations of the research were stated, and suggestions were presented for applied and theoretical research in the future.
