The cases of internet use for teachers in preparation of course material

The present thesis is a depictive study which aims to determine the cases of internet use for teachers in preparing their course materials. 226 teachers, working in Kütahya and the district of Tavsanlı, participated into this research. The questionnaire of Internet Use in Preparation of Material, consisting of totally 50 questions developed by the researcher, was applied on the participants. In this research, what kind of internet sites and how often do teachers visit when preparing material for their courses and how they used the datas they got from these internet sites, were investigated. The relationship between teachers?sexes, educational position in which they work, their occupational seniority, levels of education, the sense of capability they feel in using computer and internet and the sources of internet they use in preparation of course material and the datas they obtained from these sources, was searched. The datas were gathered with The questionnaire of Internet Use in Preparation of Material, which was developed by the researcher. The results of the questionnaire were tabled by being analysed with the program SPSS 10.0 for Windows. The received datas were interpreted by the researcher. In the extent of this study done as to the cases of internet use for teachers in preparation of course material, general results and suggestions defined below were achieved. There should be enhanced the use of internet as a new technology for teachers in preparation of course material and should be provided the efficient use of internet as both a communicative technology and a device which will contribute to their academic developments. Therefore, the use of internet technology should be encouraged by holding seminars and courses as far as possible. The integration of teachers and teacher candidates into new technologies should be supplied.
