Abstract (EN)

This study aims to examine teachers' effective life-long learning perceptions according to variables of work place, age, marital status, duration of service, teaching grade, and the seminar experience. In this study, one of the quantitative research methods, descriptive survey model, was used for the methodology. The research population of the study is composed of the teachers who have worked in schools under Siirt provincial directorate of national education in the 2017-2018 school year. The research sample of the study; however, consists of 598 pre-school, elementary, middle, and high school teachers in Siirt. In the current study, the "Effective Lifelong Learning Scale" developed by Günüç, Odabaşı, and Kuzu and the personal information form created by the researcher were used for data collection. The Cronbach alpha of the scale was calculated to be .96. SPSS 21 version was utilized for the data analysis. Normality tests were done and found the data to be non-normal. Since the normality criteria is violated and the distribution was not found to be normal, non-parametric tests, Kruskal Wallis and Mann-Whitney U, were used to analyze the data. Considering the findings obtained in the quantitative data analysis, the study showed that although teachers' effective life-long learning perceptions were not found to be statistically significant according to the variables of work place, age, marital status, duration of service, and teaching grade, their effective life-long learning perceptions were found to be statistically significant in terms of the seminar experience variable.
