Investigation of teachers' self-efficiency beliefs regarding science education

The aim of this study is to determine the teachers' self-efficacy belielfs levels in terms of different variables. The survey method, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. The "Self-Efficacy Belief Scale for Science" developed and adapted by Enochs and Riggs in 1990 and adapted by Bıkmaz (2004) was used. The data of the study were collected from primary, secondary and Anatolian high school teachers in Siverek district of Şanlıurfa province in the 2021-2022 academic year. In the study, teachers' self-efficacy perceptions towards science education were evaluated in terms of their gender, years of professional seniority, and education level. The necessary analyzes of the findings obtained as a result of the study were conducted with the SPSS 22 program. Considering the results of the study, it was determined that teachers' self-efficacy perception levels towards science education were high. In the study, there was a significant difference only in terms of the branch variable, and it was concluded that the variables such as gender, professional seniority, whether the teachers were successful in science while they were students, their education level, their in-service training did not affect the teachers' self-efficacy perception levels towards science education.
