Abstract (EN)

This thesis aims to examine the relationship between teachers' perceptions of teaching professional ethics (TPE) and organizational citizenship behaviors (OCB). The universe of the research consists of teachers working in schools in the city center of Tunceli in the 2020-2021 academic year. The sample of the research was determined by the quota sampling method, and the research was carried out by analyzing the data obtained from 311 teachers working at various levels. In the study, the correlational survey model, one of the general survey model types, was used. Within the scope of the research, the data were collected with the Organizational Citizenship Behavior Scale (OCBS), the Teaching Professional Ethical Principles Scale (TPEPS) and the personal information form prepared by the researcher. SPSS package program was used in the analysis of the data in the research. Since the obtained data provide the normal distribution assumptions; t-test, One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Pearson Correlation analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis were performed. According to the findings obtained from the study, it was seen that the perceptions of SME and the kindness sub-dimension scores of OCB were "very high". It was determined that the total score of OCB, altruism, conscientiousness, sportsmanship and civic virtue sub-dimensions scores were "high". It was determined that the perceptions of SME differed significantly according to gender, branch and education level, but did not show a significant difference according to marital status, seniority and age. According to the gender variable, married teachers compared to single teachers; According to the branch variable, the teachers in the social sciences and fine arts/physical education/conservatory branches are among the teachers in the science branches; According to the variable of education level, it has been determined that teachers working in pre-school have a higher perception of TPE than teachers working in secondary and high schools. It was determined that OCB and its sub-dimensions did not show a significant difference according to gender and seniority variables. In the marital status variable, it was determined that married teachers showed more gentlemanly behavior than single teachers. In the education level variable, preschool and primary school teachers showed more altruistic behavior than secondary school teachers; preschool teachers showed more courtesy behavior than secondary school teachers; It has been determined that preschool teachers show more gentlemanly and civic virtue behaviors than high school teachers. In the branch variable, it was determined that teachers in fine arts/physical education/conservatory branches showed more civic virtue behaviors than teachers in science branches. In the age variable, it was found that teachers between the ages of 31-40 and 41-50 showed more altruistic behavior than teachers aged 30 and younger. According to the results of Pearson Correlation Analysis, there are positive significant relationships between perceptions of TPE and OCB total score and all sub-dimensions. As a result of multiple regression analysis, it can be said that teachers' OCB (altruism, gentlemanly courtesy and civic virtue sub-dimensions) significantly predict their professional ethics perceptions. In addition, it was concluded that the OCB level explained approximately 35% of the total change in the perception of TPE. Looking at these results, it can be interpreted that OCB has a role in teachers' perceptions of TPE.
