Abstract (EN)

THE VİEWS OF PARENTS AND TEACHERS WHİT REGARD TO VALUE EVELS OF CHİLDİREN İN PRE-SCHOOL AGE The value of individuals are formed by the values they get from their families and their environment. Factors affecting the value judgments of children in developmental age are the family and school environment. Here, the value judgments of parents and teachers are important. The reflection of these values to the child is also related to their attitudes. In this study, relational survey model was used to determine parents 'and teachers' attitudes about the values of pre-school children and their attitudes towards children. The population of the study consists of parents and teachers of 3-6 years old children studying in pre-school education institutions in Batman city center in 2016-2017 academic year. The sample is composed of 317 students, 317 parents and students from the 17 classrooms selected by the appropriate sampling method. As a data collection tool; "Pre-school Values Scale Family Form" and "Pre-school Values Scale XIII Teacher Form" developed by Neslitürk and Çeliköz (2015); "Parental Attitude Scale" developed by Karabulut-Demir (2007) were used. The data obtained from the study were analyzed by SPSS package program. In this study, the frequency, arithmetic mean and standard deviation analyzes of the items related to both demographic and scale items were determined after the normal distribution of the data. In addition, in order to determine whether there is a link between the variables included in the study, comparison analyzes (t-test for independent samples, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Kruskal-Wallis H test) were conducted. In addition, multiple regression analysis was performed to determine the effect of the variables. According to the findings of the study; families stated that they have the most value of friendship-friendship, while at least they have responsibility value. The opinions of the families about the values of the children of pre-school age do not differ significantly according to the gender and age variables of the children. Teachers state that students have the most friendship-friendship value, while at least they state that they have the value of honesty. The opinions of the teachers about the values of the children of pre-school age differ significantly according to the gender and age variables of the children. Parents stated that their democratic attitudes towards preschool children are at the highest level and their attitudes are at the lowest level. Parents' attitudes towards pre-school children differ significantly according to gender, monthly income status and number of children. As a result of multiple linear regression analysis conducted to determine how parents' attitudes towards children in pre-school age predict their assessment of children's values; democratic, authoritarian and permissive variables together revealed that children predicted family assessments of their values. Key Words: Preschool education, values education, attitude, parent, parenting attitude.
