Evaluation of activities carried out in pre-school education institutions to raise environmental awareness based on teachers' views

In today's conditions, the unconscious depletion of natural resources in our world every passing day brings environmental problems with it. In this sense, it is necessary to ensure sustainable development and to give environmental awareness to people in childhood, which is defined as an early age period in the maintenance of life, and to carry out awareness-raising activities related to the protection of the environment. In this context, it is very important to develop environmental awareness at the early childhood stage and to make positive attitudes and behaviors towards the environment permanent.In this direction, teacher opinions were utilized in order to evaluate the activities carried out in pre-school educational institutions to raise environmental awareness for children. In this context, semi-structured interviews were conducted with teachers working in schools in Diyarbakır province. According to the results obtained from the data collected during the interviews, it has been determined that teachers in early childhood education institutions have a wide variety of activities and materials to promote environmental awareness, and that the implemented programs are largely effective.
