The investigation of the level of level and awareness onchildren's negligence and abuse of preschool teachers (Adana provincial example)

This research's goal is measure the awareness level and vision of preschool teachers against child abuse and neglect in official kindergartens in Adana city. For this purpose, a survey used with 24 questions with 5 likert scale without socio-demographic characteristics and survey goal is ''awareness level of teachers against child abuse and neglect.'' There are 74 kindergartens and 713 preschool teachers in Adana city but in total 548 teachers accepted answer the survey from 63 different kindergartens. After results collected, answers entered to computer programm called SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Sciences)20.0 and in the same system, T test, one way analysis of varians, Pearson correlation tests, Mann Whitney U, Keuskall Wallis test, Spearman correlation tests and Chi-square test analysis has been done. After this analiysis 58 % of preschool teachers did not have any education about child abuse and neglect and 42 % of preschool teachers educated about child abuse and neglect. Non-educated teacher population is more than educated teacher population as per the result of analysis. 79.9 % of preschool teachers request education about child abuse and neglect and 59.9% of preschool teachers have information about Child Protection Law. Preschool teachers are ready to get educated and defination child abuse and neglect but they can not find themselves as ready and prepared to defination the child abuse and neglect. In the kindergartens, 78.1 % research has a positive effect on the level of awareness in the schools. Teachers put sexual abuse to first place about abuse, emotional neglect to first place about neglect and educational neglect while they identify and intervention. 92.5 % of teachers state that they are required by law to report cases of neglect and abuse and 99.3 % of teachers stated they had to declare as conscientious. This research shows that teachers have lack of knowledge in the ranking of places where they will make notifications. 89.4 % of the teachers stated that their managers would support themselves in the notification. All these results shows that teachers are not educated enough and their request of education about child abuse and neglect is quite high and they can not see themselves enough on this point.
