The relationship between the silence of school and the burnout of the teachers

In this study, the relationship between the silence of school and the burnout of teachers and the differences of this relationship according to some demographic characteristics have been wanted to state. It's extremely important to be solved of this problem by searching the teachers' (who grow up children, the future's only inheritors) silence and burnout that are some of the most important problems that can prevent the education. This study has been prepared as proper to descriptive survey model. And the answers to these questions have been looked for: The relationship between the silence of school and the burnout of the teachers: 1- Has it differentiated according to the sexes of the teachers? 2- Has it differentiated according to the ages of the teachers? 3- Has it differentiated according to the branches of the teachers? 4- Has it differentiated according to the school types of the teachers? 5- Has it differentiated according to the variable that teachers can communicate easily with everyone? 6- Has it differentiated according to the duration of the teachers' working at school? This study was performed with 325 teachers in Çekmekoy and Umraniye, in Istanbul in the education year of 2014- 2015. A survey that was prepared by the researcher was used in this study. The identity information wasn't questioned because the participants could express their thoughts in an objective way. To analyze the data, the SPSS ( Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) was used. The differences of the teachers according to their sexes and school types were analyzed with independent samples t test and the differences at the other variables were analyzed with one-way analysis of variance ( ANOVA). Then, complementary test were passed on to matters that become meaningful. For this, Tamhane's T2 and LSD tests were carried out according to homogeneity of group. According to the results of the study, the woman teachers heve been seen to stay more silent in comparing to other age groups in silent situations in order to obey the management. The teacher that work in private schools have would rather stay more silent in the presence of unwanted behaviours of school management. And, as soon as the teachers' working duration increases at the same school, teachers have been seen to prefer staying more silent because of several reasons.
