The relationship between the school administrators' conflict management styles and problem solvi̇ng

Human beings are who communicate with each other and therefore are affected by each other socially. In organizations it is inevitable to experience conflict among the employees as a result of this communication and interaction.In this study, the relationship between the school administrators' conflict management styles and problem solving is aimed to be observed. During the carry out session of the investigation, in order to define the results about the school administrators' preferences on the conflict management style, (ROC I II) wherears to define the results about the school administrators' problem solving skills, (PÇE) (Problem Solving Questionairre) have been taken into use. ROC I II and PÇE have been applied on 156 school administrators' in Kadıköy.The result heve been analysed by using SPSS for Windows 15.0 program. It is possible to summarize the results of the investigation as follows: While handling and solving conflicts, school administrators use integrating style most. Integrating is followed by compromising, obliging, avoiding and dominating.School administrators' conflict management style preferences change significantly according to demographic variables. With regard to the school administrators' perception in problem solving skills, impulsive style is the most commonly used on. The impulsive style is followed by problem solving confidence, reflective style, planfulness, avoidant style and monitoring. School administrators' conflict management styles preferences don't change significantly according to their gender, education status, school level, type of school and variable number of employees significantly according to their age and priority service. It is also realized that school administrators' conflict management styles preferences in state and private schools do not refer to a significant difference. As a result, in this study; there occurs to be no relationship between the school administrators' conflict management styles and problem solving skills.
