Investigation by the transformational leadership qualities teachers' perceptions of school administrators: Başakşehir i̇lçe örneği

Educational organizations that form the focal point of social change, are forced to struggle against the challenge of the chancing process. In the information age, school management process should transform from the traditional "rulers" of the role, to the "leader" role in a contemporary meaning. Headmaster of the future should fulfill the transformational leadership behavior and also should have the leadership abilities and features that understands the transformation of philosophy. The purpose of this research is to analyze the transformational leadership characteristics of school administrators, according to the views of secondary school teachers who work in Başakşehir district. As a school administrator having a transformational leadership is very important as it influences the performance of school management. There fore determining the level of school administrators' transformational leadership is so important. The population of this research conducted in this context are the teachers working in secondary schools in Istanbul Başakşehir. The resulting sample comes through these teachers selected from 254 people. As a means of collecting data" Transformational Leadership Questionnaire "were used from the thesis which titled "21. Transformational Leadership Approach As the century by Perception Evaluation of Teachers of School Administrators Leadership Traits " by Seray TOKSÖZ in Yeditepe University. The findings were evaluated and reached the following conclusions: there is no significant difference in terms of school type, gender, age and between a professional seniority variables as a transformational leadership characteristics. According to the results obtained from the comparisons,marital status variables were significant as one of transformational leadership features. Single teachers gave more points than the married or widowed teachers as the idealized effect size. It is also found that all features of transformational leadership is significant depending on the education level. As for this meaningfulness correspondance university graduated teachers have more perception of transformational leadership features than the other teachers in the group.
