The relationship between the servant leadership behaviors of school administrator and the performance levels of preschool teachers

The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between school administrators' servant leadership behaviors and teachers' performance levels. Relational survey model was used in the research.The population of the research consists of 451 preschool teachers working in 228 schools in Siirt province and district centers in the 2019-2020 academic year. Since the universe of the research is accessible, sampling was not used. In the study, "School Principals' Servant Leadership Behaviors Scale" and "Teacher Performance Evaluation Scale" were used. In the research, the data were analyzed using the SPSS 22 package program. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), correlation and regression analysis techniques were used. As a result of the research, it was determined that teachers' perceptions of both school administrators' servant leadership behaviors and teacher performance were generally at a good level. It has been determined that there are statistically significant differences according to teacher perceptions in some of the independent variables used in the research on the servant leadership behaviors of school administrators and teacher performance. In general, it has been determined that there is a positive and moderately significant relationship between the servant leadership behaviors of school administrators and the performance levels of teachers. As a result of the regression analysis, it was concluded that the servant leadership behaviors of school administrators significantly predicted the performance levels of teachers. In general, it was concluded that the servant leadership behaviors of school administrators explained 18% of the variance of teacher performance.
