Abstract (EN)

In this study, the relationship between school administrators 'paternalistic leadership behaviors and school teachers' job satisfaction was investigated. Relational survey model was used in the research. The population of the study consists of 575 preschool teachers working in 81 schools in Batman province in the 2019-2020 academic year. Sampling was not used due to the lack of many teachers in the research population. "Paternalist Leadership Behaviors Scale" and "Job Satisfaction Scale" were used in the study. In the statistical analysis of the data, frequency and percentage, standard deviation, arithmetic mean, independent sample t-test, Anova test, LSD test, correlation and regression analysis techniques were used. As a result of the research, it was found that school administrators perceive paternalistic leadership behaviors at a medium level; It was determined that their perceptions of the dimensions of "family mood" and "philanthropy", which are sub-dimensions of paternalist leadership, were high, their perception of "interventionism" and "insufficient perception" was "low", and the perception of the authority sub-dimension was "moderate" .It has been determined that teachers' perceptions about job satisfaction in general are "at a good level". It was determined that there were statistically significant differences in some of the independent variables used in the study of the perceptions of the teachers participating in the study regarding paternalistic leadership and job satisfaction. Paternalistic (paternal) leadership has a positive and medium level of creating a family atmosphere and philanthropy and teachers' job satisfaction; between the authority and intervention sub-dimension and teachers' job satisfaction in a negative and low level; It was determined that there is a moderate and negative relationship between insufficient perception and teachers' job satisfaction. As a result of the regression analysis, it was determined that in general, the "benevolence and" under-seeing "sub-dimensions of paternalistic leadership were significant predictors on teachers' job satisfaction.
