Examination of the ways that school managers deal withstres

One of the most important reasons for stress is undoubtedly working life and working conditions. Workings with too many rules, as known leads to a higher level of stress than other workings. Education environments are also the most stressful area of schools. Determining the sources of stress in the managers who are the vital part of the educational environment is essential to be able to create a better educational environment. The stressful environment can reduce the effectiveness of the manager andaccordingly the effectiveness of the education process.The most important judge of theexperts in dealingwithstress can be summedup in thefollowingsentence: The goal should be to learn to struggle effectively with stress, not to maintain a remote life from stress. This study was conducted in order to examine the ways in which the education managers cope with stress. Population of research is Istanbul city in the academic year of 2017-2018, and sampling is composed of 161 managers who working in schools in the European side. In this direction, the scales were applied to 161 managers who are close and reachable from this population of research. A 12-point questionnaire developed by Yıldırım (2008) was used to examine the ways in which school managers deal with stress. The data collected in the study were analyzed in the SPSS program and then the results were obtained. In this study , in order to determine the stres levels of the administrators working in schools, gender, age, educational status, duty at the institution, seniority in management, how manyyears in the institution he currently Works for, number of students, school type, teaching style and branch variables differences have been examined accordingly. The comparison of the stres levels of the managers survey consists of four sub-factors. The data were interpreted with% (percent), t-test, Anova (one way variance analysis) and scheffe test. As a result of the research, the school managers respectively prefer spending time with their loved ones, seeking the good side of things, avoiding stresful situations. School managers often say that they create an environment as a way to deal with stress. Beside of this, avoids situations that remind them causing stress, they are looking for the good parts of the events and spending time with their loved ones. As ways to cope with stress, seen that they often plan ahead to make good use of their time. Participants who did not receive help from experts to cope with stress, prefer the people they trust for it. On the other side, they choose to confront the stres oroccasionally or infrequently to cope with the stress.
