Assesing the relationship between technology leadership roles and computer anxiety levels of aministrators

In this study, the relationship between technology leadership roles and computer anxiety levels of administrators was investigated.In order to determine technology leadership roles of administrators, the research was carried out according to their own ideas and teachers ideas. The study was conducted in the fall term of 2011-2012 academic year with the participation of 80 administrators, 620 teachers working at 24 public primary schools in Gungoren district of Istanbul.While evaluating the administrators own ideas and also teachers ideas relating to administrators? technology leadership roles, ?Technology Leadership Role Scale? which was developed by Sincar (2009) was used. Besides, ?Computer Anxiety Scale on Educational Administrators? which was developed by Ağaoğlu and others (2008) was applied in order to assess the computer anxiety levels of administrators, Nonparametric analyze techniques such as Mann Whitney ? U and Kruskal Wallis H-Test was used because of non-homogeneous variance in order to determine whether administrators? technology leadership and computer anxiety differentiate , according to the variables such as gender, field of activity, length of service. Furthermore, with the aim of analyzing the relationship between technology leadership and computer anxiety, correlation analyze was used.According to the research results, no meaningful relationship between administrators? technology leadership roles such as human-centered, vision, communication and cooperation and computer anxiety of administrators was found but the results revealed that there was a negative relationship between support and anxiety. As administrators have higher technology support, lower computer anxiety they feel.Keywords: Educational Administration, technology leadership, computer anxiety.
