Abstract (EN)

The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between school administrators' technology leadership competencies and media and technology use attitudes. This research is a descriptive research designed in relational survey model. The universe of the research consists of 416 school administrators working in public schools in the Sultanbeyli district of Istanbul. The sample of the research consists of 115 school administrators selected by the easily accessible case sampling method. "School Administrators' Technology Leadership Efficacy Perceptions Scale" and "Media and Technology Use and Attitudes Scale" were used to collect research data. All necessary permissions were obtained for the research and for the scales. SPSS 22 package program was used in the analysis of the data obtained from the scales. The Kruskal Wallis-H Test to determine whether the scores of the Technology Leadership Efficacy Perceptions Scale differ according to the type of school, professional seniority and age; t-Test to determine whether it differs according to gender, education level, title, and whether it is in-service related to IT; The Mann Whitney-U Test was applied to determine whether the CT class differed according to the variable. Likewise, the Kruskal Wallis-H Test was used to determine whether the Media and Technology Use and Attitudes Scale scores differ according to the type of school, professional seniority and age; independent groups t-Test to determine whether it differs according to gender, education level, title, and whether it is in-service related to IT; The Mann Whitney-U Test was applied to determine whether the CT class differed according to the variable. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the technology leadership competencies of school administrators were at a high level. School administrators' perceptions of technology leadership competencies did not differ significantly in terms of gender, education level and having an IT class at school; It was concluded that there was a significant difference in terms of school type, title, professional seniority, age and in-service training related to IT. In the research, all dimensions of the technology leadership competencies of school administrators and the sub-dimensions of the media, technology use and attitudes of school administrators; using a smart phone, using a general social network, doing research on the internet, using e-mail, online friendship, social networking friendship, positive attitude towards technology and preferences for transition between tasks are positively very strong; it was concluded that there is a negative and moderate relationship between the anxiety of being without technology, technology addiction and negative attitude towards technology. In order to increase the TLY of school administrators, effective in-service trainings can be organized on educational technologies and the active use of technology in education. School administrators can be informed about the use of social media in education, and their negative perceptions about social media environments and tools can be channeled in a positive way.
