Abstract (EN)

The aim of the study was to focus on the relationship between the level of informal relationships in schools and the perceptions of cynicism of teachers. "Informal Relationship Scale" and "Organizational Cynicism Scale" were applied to 413 teachers in primary, secondary and high schools in Simav district of Kütahya province. Independent t-test an done-way analysis of variance were used to determine whether the identified variables differ. The TUKEY test was used to determine which group or groups the significant difference resulted from. Pearson moment correlation coefficient was used in the study of the relationship between the informal relationship levels and organizational cynicism levels perceived by teachers; A simple linear regression analysis was used to determine whether there was a significant predictor. All the data were analyzed and interpreted at .05 significance level. According to the results of the research, it was determined that the teachers' perceptions about informal relationships in and outside the school were moderate. It was determined that teachers' perceptions of informal relationships in and outside the schools were not significantly different in terms of their seniority, approximate term of employment at the same school, gender and marital status. However, according to the school type variable, there was a significant difference in terms of high school, and it was also determined that there was a significant difference in favor of the teachers whose schools employ 21-30 teachers in terms of internal informal relations accroding to the numer of tecahers variable. As for the results acquired from the other variable of the study, organizational cynicism; the perception level of organizational cynicism of teachers was found to be low in terms of withdrawal from the institution, negative attitude towards their school and cynicism total score. The teachers also have a moderate level of cynicism in terms of perception of factors that decrease performance and a high level of cynicism in terms of the perception of employee participation in the process of performing the decisions. It was determined that the level of organizational cynicism of teachers did not differ according to school type, approximate term of employment at the same school, gender and marital status variables. When the organizational cynicism perceptions of the teachers were examined according to seniority variable, it was observed that the teachers who have 1-10 years osf seniority have a higher organizational cynicism than other seniority groups in terms of sub-dimension of the factors that decrease perfomance. As for the variable of the number of teachers, organizational cynicism perception of teachers was found to be higher fro the teachers who work at schools that employ 31 or more teachers in terms of sub-dimension of withdrawal from the institution. As a result of the evaluation of the relationship between the informal relationships at schools and organizational cynicism levels of teachers; a significant negative moderate level correlation was found between the teachers' perceptions of internal informal relationships and organizational cynicism in terms of withdrawal from the institution and the factors that decrease performance at school. As for the perception of negative attitude of teachers towards the school, a significant negative low level correlation was found. Internal informal relationship perception of teachers working at elementary schools, secondary schools and high schools predict the organizational cynicism behaviour in a significant way. It was determined that internal relationships at schools predict the organizational cynicism perception of teachers. Keywords: Relationship, Informal Relationship, Cynicism, Organizational Cynicism.
