Abstract (EN)
There are different types of functioning of bibliotherapy, which can be briefly defined as "healing under the guidance of books" or "bringing the individual together with the right book at the right time". While clinical bibliotherapy is applied only by experts in the field of mental health; developmental bibliotherapy can be applied in schools or libraries under the guidance of educators. The fact that the bibliotherapy method, which has gained an interdisciplinary character in recent years, requires a planned and systematic reading process and is based on texts and books, makes it easier for the method to be preferred in Turkish lessons. As a matter of fact, Turkish lessons constitute a suitable ground for bibliotherapy practices. Negative attitudes of students towards reading skill, which is one of the basic skills of Turkish education, constitute a major obstacle in the development of reading skills, and this situation emerges as a problem that needs to be resolved. The bibliotherapy method; qualities such as improvement, guidance, prevention, being aware of problems and discovering solutions for problems, shaping behaviors and attitudes; offers the opportunity to be a preferable method in solving the mentioned problem, but there is a need for qualified works in order to carry out bibliotherapy applications for the mentioned purpose. The aim of this study is to research and examine qualified children's works that can be used as a resource in improving students' reading attitudes through books. For this purpose, nineteen children's books, which were determined in accordance with certain criteria, constitute the examination material of the study. "Bibliotherapeutic Text Analysis Rubric" was used as a data collection tool in the research. The Lawshe technique was used in the validity study of the rubric; Weighted Kappa method was used in the reliability study. After the validity and reliability study, nineteen children's books were examined in detail in line with the fifteen items in the rubric. As a result of the examination, a common table was created in order to compare all the books; the percentage and frequency values carried by the books are shown in this table. The study was carried out with document analysis in the qualitative research approach. While the document analysis technique was used to collect the data, the analysis of the data was made with descriptive analysis. In line with the findings of the research, comments were made about the usability of the examined books as a resource for improving students' reading attitudes through bibliotherapy.
