Abstract (EN)

Olive fruit fly (Bactrocera oleae Gmelin) causing economic harm and controlling with insecticides in our country. Nowadays organic olive production going to increase and developing alternative control methods are must be used instead of chemical control. The aim of this study is determination of the testing different trap methods and traps effectiveness, in organic olive production, in addition to study of usage these traps in controlling olive fruit fly during 2005?2007. Three different trap methods were used in organic olive plantation, in Çanakkale (İntepe). In research olive plantations were established; yellow sticky panel traps (n=100), olipe traps (n=100) and Eco-Trap® `s (n=100) were hanged on the trees above 1,8m height. The traps were faced to southern-east, having opened and indirect sun light. We surveyed periodically from August to October (one times in two week) controlled traps. Adult olive fruit fly numbers in/on traps and male/female rate were noted. Three different trap methods were discussed for effectiveness with each other. Eventually we determined most useful trap method for controlling olive fruit fly is olipe traps in organic olive plantation.
