A research to reveal the relationship between the workplace deviance and conflict resolution methods in context of organization

This thesis aims to reveal the nature of the relationship between workplace deviant behaviors and conflict concepts and role of managers in this relationship by examining throughly the meanings attributed to the concepts of workplace deviant behaviors and conflict. In accordance with thesis purpose, as the concept and scope of workplace deviant behaviour ve developed typologies related with workplace deviant behaviour and researches in national and international literature are considered in the first chapters of the thesis, concept and scope of confict, conflict management and researches related with conflict in national and international literature in the second chapters. The data obtained from field research are given in details in the last part of the thesis. In the context of this study, the data obtained from semi-structured interviews with 19 people who are worked as a middle and senior manager in private and public institutions in İzmir were analyzed by qualitative content analysis. As a result of the research, by finding out the dynamics underlying the concepts of deviant and conflict, relationship between the nature of the concepts and critical role of managers were revealed. Finally, suggestions were made to the managers.
