Abstract (EN)
In addition to his literary historiography and criticism, Orhan Okay is an important academician and thinker. During the period until his death, he brought hundreds of articles, criticisms and essays, and commemorative texts to the field of New Turkish literature, as well as important scientific studies. Orhan Okay, who is a prolific writer apart from his academic career, was influenced by important names such as Nurettin Topçu, Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar, and Mehmet Kaplan. He shaped his scientific studies by adhering to the methodical attitude he acquired from his teacher, Mehmet Kaplan. While his scientific texts and artistic outputs make an impact on the readers, they also draw attention with their language and style features. In the studies carried out in the academic field so far, it is seen that Orhan Okay's biography and understanding of education are generally examined. On the other hand, his works and articles on science and art have not been studied specifically; The thinkers and teachers he was influenced by, and the changes and fractures he experienced were not discussed in detail. In our study, besides Orhan Okay's biography, science and art studies were taken as basis and focused on them.
