Abstract (EN)

Snagging is one of the main factors that cannot be prevented and/or eliminated causing a direct effect on the product quality. In this thesis, the snagging issues are not formed during the fabric construction however it's formed due to the mistreatment of the product as discussed. Also, the parameters affecting the snagging problem were examined. For this purpose, different types of yarns with different count and twist values from different materials were used and fabrics were knitted by changing machine settings and knitting structures. Before tests, standard finishing processes were applied to all fabrics. Characterization studies were done for used fibers and yarns in the study. Besides the snagging resistance of the fabrics, stitch density, fabric weights, pilling and abrasion resistance, burst strength and yarn friction coefficient of fabrics were examined. Finally, the production parameters were determined the fiber/yarn/fabric properties having the highest snagging resistance.
