Abstract (EN)

This research was conducted to determine the relationship between teachers' organizational burnout levels and organizational commitment. Descriptive method was used in the thesis study, which was created with a quantitative research model. Research data were collected with the "Maslach Burnout Inventory" and the "Allen Mayer Organizational Commitment Scale". Scales were applied to 386 teachers working in high schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in Üsküdar District by random sampling method, the collected data were transferred to the SPSS 23.0 program and sample t-test was conducted for variables consisting of two groups, and one-way analysis of variance was performed for variables consisting of more than two groups. In addition, correlation analysis was applied to show the relationship between the sub-dimensions of the burnout scale and the sub-dimensions of the organizational commitment scale. The research results show that there are different relationships between secondary school teachers' organizational commitment dimensions and variables such as gender, marital status, years of service in the institution and professional seniority. A significant relationship was determined between the emotional commitment dimension and gender, and it was determined that men had a lower emotional commitment tendency than women. Similarly, it has been determined that men have a lower tendency than women in the depersonalization dimension. Additionally, significant relationships were observed between the organizational commitment dimensions (affective commitment, continuance commitment and normative commitment) specified in this study. The emotional commitment dimension has a negative relationship with emotional exhaustion and depersonalization and a positive relationship with personal accomplishment. Continuance commitment has a negative relationship with emotional exhaustion and depersonalization and a positive relationship with personal success. Normative commitment shows a negative relationship with emotional exhaustion and a positive relationship with personal success. When looking at the mean scores of the one-way analysis of variance results, there is no significant difference according to age. Normative commitment; emotional exhaustion has a low negative correlation with depersonalization; It has a moderate positive correlation and significant relationship with personal success.
