The management problems faced by managers in high schools

In this observation, It is aimed to understand what management problems are existed in HighSchools and the perception of these problems by the managing directors and bring the advicesabout the solutions of these problems.This observation was done with 203 Principles of the schools and the Assistant Principleswho are working in Vocational Schools, Private High School and State High School inAnatolian part of İstanbul. All the points were explained in this observation before theinterpretation of the questionnaire results The teories, the historical developments of themanaging, the management of the school and the management period were mentioned.In this observation, the management problems of the High School managers were exploredaccording to the differences of the total student numbers,education level, age, gender andresponsibility.Data in this observation were collected by management questionaire and analysized by SPSSpackage program.The questionaires were applied to school managers by visiting their schoo l.The questionaire includes 43 questions. Data were interpreted and analysized by usingAritmetic Standart, Frequency, % (percentage) T test, Anova ( one way variance analysis) andScheff Test.As a result of the observation; the management problems tha t the high school managers areexposed,display meaningful differences depending on the total student numbers in the school,the management education, organisation, grade, education level, the mission in theorganisation, gender and the medium but the difference related with the age isn?t seen.January,2008 Ahmet Hakan YAMAK
